Need a laugh?

My husband stumbled across this product on Amazon when he was looking for a gas can (this was a few months ago, but I had totally forgotten). Read the reviews (just scroll down and make sure you click through the pages to read them all). Super funny shit! Gotta love Amazon reviews.
PS, he didn't buy this gas can.

For those of you that don't want to click, I'll give a sampling:

what the...........!!!!!!!, May 8, 2007
By
Greg W. Rennirt - See all my reviews I have to admit...I am often critical of reviewers thinking that they are obviously doing something wrong. Not in this case. The above reviews are right on. This is the only gas can available at my local hardware store so I invested in 7 of them (yes I need that much gas) I cannot explain how bad a design this is. 12 hours after filling all cans, I noticed a 12 inch puddle of gas around each can where gas was percolating from the top. I reacted by immediately carrying the gas can out of the garage and was absolutely covered in gas spilling from the top all over my pants. I then decided that it was the fill tube under the surface of the gas that was allowing the gas to spill so I removed each. I then carried them back into the garage and they spilled again from the gas moving inside the cans. I cant imagine a design that would allow more gas to escape. All in all I would guess that more than half a gallon of gas was spilled. If you like being covered in gas or just want to meet your local Haz-Mat team, buy these cans.

Zero stars if possible., June 10, 2007
By
J. Daily (Fort Worth, Tx United States) - See all my reviews I have never spilled as much gas as I have with this supposed "spill proof" can. What a major crock. That anyone thinks these cans were even necessary(probably some California moron) is proof of how stupid the u.s. has become. Even when I have spilled gas with the good old fashioned kind of can, it was nothing like what gushed out of this "spill proof" can. These should be yanked from the market asap.

Worst design ever, May 2, 2007
By
N. Johnson (Millersville PA USA) - See all my reviews I'm over 60 and have been using plastic gas cans for years, and when I went to buy a replacement, this was the only one available at my local hardware store, and I bought it without realizing how different it is. I ended up with more gas on the ground and all over the mower than IN the mower. Now I'm trying to find the 'old' style, and I can't find any like that in local stores. Is this going to be the only design available?? Compounding the problem is the arthritis in my hands, which makes this even more difficult to use. If the cap isn't screwed down tight enough, gas leaks all over. I never had that problem with the old style. I'll make do with my old one until I can find a suitable replacement.

A Class Action Suit Waiting to Happen, November 9, 2006
By
S. Sullivan - See all my reviews This can is something you should never buy. I'm attempting to get a refund from the company. I have been pouring gas for 35 years. I have never spilled any before. Compounding ths problem is that when the gas spills out of this, it spills onto my hands AND into water, which is a discrace. I feel like Satan himself when I use this can, spilling fuel all over the water and Earth. Gasoline is a carcinogen. This can ensures you get it all over your hands when you use it. I can't believe the lawyers at this company have allowed them to put such a dangerous product out to market. They have left themselves open to class action suits from environmentalists, people getting skin cancer, and the average user who is doused in gasoline and ends up next to an ignition source, killing him or her. I'm baffled as to how they could possibly be allowed to sell such a dangerous product.

Horrible product! , June 11, 2006
By
M. Gerenser "Creative Director" (Webster, NY USA) - See all my reviews This is the worst gas can I've ever used. Imagine my horrific surprise when I first used it to try and fill up the tank on new lawn mower. I dumped more gas on my shoes than in the mower's tank. How hard can it be to use a gas can!?!? Well, apparently I'm not the only one having trouble with this thing. This product stinks. I'm returning it, and I'm going to find a traditional gas can that just works.

Waste of time money & gas, November 12, 2008
By
Kris C. Wilfong "wilfongk" (ozark mountains) - See all my reviews Self-venting my a**, they are non-venting. This means that they empty incredibly slowly. You end up holding about forty pounds up in the air for what seems to be an eternity, wondering what idiot designed it. I always keep the spout up on mine, not exactly safe for transport; but at least it doesn't leak gas all over the place. I would surely not want to carry this company's liability coverage.

Only good for self-immolation, March 16, 2006
By
Gnome DePlume (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviewsI have never seen a product as poorly designed. You spill gas all over the car and yourself. Somebody is going to get killed using this. Hey Government Regulators... what are you waiting for?

Andrew's vocabulary at 21 months. :)

Cah: Car (said with a really heavy "kkkk" sound)
Doh-uh: Lights (I have NO idea where he got this; he just made it up, but anytime we go someplace, he points up and says it really loud over and over again.
Birds-uh: Yep, he still says this one all the time. He loves for me to read his Wonder Pets book and he continuously points to the yellow duck, saying "birds-uh"
Hotd: Hot. This is said when anyone is in the bathtub or near the stove.
Brrrrr: Brrr. (Cold). This is said when something is cold or if the floors are cold in the back bedroom.
Ah lee: All clean (we say this during bathtime).
Oh no: Oh no (said with a Wisconsin/Minnesota accent--occasionally "no" sounds like "noah")
Mo: More (usually said while whining to me that he wants more mommy milk)
Two: Two (said to me after I say, "one")
Mmmmmm: Food
Nom: Food (what can I say, the kid likes to eat)
uhWaWa: Water
Outside: (Outside)
Bah: Ball
Boon: Balloon (he screams this every time we go to the grocery store because they have graduation balloons and the like out)
Eeeeeeeeeeeee: Airplane
Ooooooooooooh: Blow dryer (or vacuum cleaner). He also has a word for "blow dry", and occasionally will say it, something like "die".
Dude: Dude
Joo: juice.
Coh: Cow (sometimes sounds more like "goh")
Drew: I think he's saying Andrew, but not 100% sure
Bee: Bee (like his Bee and Me book)
Gwa or Gwana: Iguana (from one of his animals books)
Bwid: Bridge (he learned this one the other day when we were at the picnic; there's a bridge you can walk over)
No: No (again, with a Wisconsin accent). Sometimes pronounced, "Noah"
And then of course, there's "Ah-dah" and "Mom"

I'm sure I am forgetting some, but this is here for my records now.

He's also become a fan of filling in the words in books. Two of his favorite books right now are Wonder Pets and Bee and Me. In the Wonder Pets book, there is a line that says, "Look a baby kangaroo! He's lost and wants his mama too", and he knows when that "mama" comes up, so he is ready to say it before I get to that spot. In the Bee and Me book, he loves the part where the boy has to shut the window, and the bee says, "Oh no". Andrew gets a huge smile on his face, because that is one of his favorite things to say. I will move on and keep reading, and he has to turn back to see that page again. :)

Memorial Day

I have more pictures, but I need to get them uploaded. This was the one I chose for my Project 365, so there you have it. Andrew is modeling one of his new outfits from Gymboree. The shirt says "Catch of the Day" in case you can't read it.

We had our annual family Memorial Day picnic today. It was so much fun! We have gone every year since my MOM was a little girl, so it's been going on for almost 50 years. Amazing. It's my grandpa's family, so there are 2nd and 3rd cousins there--great aunts and great uncles. It's a good time. It's a pot luck, but we don't eat until suppertime. There's a lot of activity during the day, including card games (I don't play those), softball games (most of the adults play; I am athletically challenged), kids running around, and just catching up with people.

We got there around 2:00 and Andrew ran pretty much the entire time. We didn't leave until 6:30, so do the math. Crazy! My boy has some crazy fast legs. I think he is a future track star.

Okay, so I said "crazy" eleventy billion times in this post--maybe that means I am?

Andrew and his "Da"

So, I don't post enough pics of Andrew and his "Da", as he calls him, but I just wanted to share one. I also would like to say that he does an incredible job with him--Andrew just adores him. My husband is the cook in the family, and he loves to prepare homemade meals for Andrew. He loves scrambled eggs and french toast the most (poet and I didn't know it). He also loves to "help" Da garden. Most of this results in Da chasing Andrew around, but eventually we hope he likes to help dig in the dirt.

I love seeing my husband kiss Andrew's cheek or head when he does something cute. He just adores his little buddy. :)

It is pretty rare to see stay-at-home dads, but it is becoming more common. I love that he has really taken on that role and grown from it, especially in the past year. The first year was definitely an adjustment.

Just an update...

Last night was a no-go. He was only in his crib from 9:00 p.m. until 1:15 a.m. Back to sqare 1!

Two nights in a row!

If we can make it three, I will feel confident that this is a lasting trend. Last night I put him in there at 9:00 p.m. and he slept until 7:00 a.m. in his crib. I can't believe he night weaned himself! Amazing, because I thought he would be one of those kids who wanted to go to age three.

The odd thing is, I now have to train myself to sleep longer. I didn't go to sleep until after midnight, and I was wide awake at 5:00 a.m. Of course, it might help if I get those curtains up in my room so the sun doesn't blind me in the morning. The (outdoor) birds are also extremely loud in the morning. I wish I could drape blankets over them, like I do my birds' cages at night. They "sleep in" until I uncover them before leaving for work.

I wouldn't mind having my boobies back, at least at night. The after work feeding is actually comforting to me, as well as to him. :)

This just in...

Associated Press (Wis.): Little Andrew R*** slept in his crib all night long for the first time in almost 21 months. He was put down in his crib by his mother at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th. He fussed for about two minutes, before nodding off to the tune of his Baby Einstein aquarium crib toy.

The mother, Sarah, could hardly believe it when she woke up at 5:00 a.m. and noticed no visitor was in her bed. She went to check on him. "I was scared something happened to him", she stated, "but he was just sound asleep".

She took her shower and continued to listen for the cries of her toddler. She actually woke him up at 7:30 a.m. because she was afraid of possible milk leakage at work, since he normally feasts 2-3 times a night. "He was happy to have his beloved 'boo', but he didn't seem to notice that he spent the night in his crib instead of my bed". Even more surprising is the fact that the toddler had been nursing much more frequently due to a stubborn molar, the last of 20 teeth, has been working its way in for quite awhile.

Sarah wonders if this could possibly be a fluke, but she hopes she doesn't jinx it by talking about it. "Shhhh", she brings her finger up to her mouth, dismissing any further discussion.

Correction...

In my "Runaway" story, I mentioned that I thought there were 6 or so houses between ours and the one he ended up at. We went for a walk tonight and it's more like 10-11 houses! It's pretty far!

Us!

:) DH took a picture of his peach trees, and we just happened to fall into the frame. Actually, I didn't get a pic on Mother's Day, so this is just a few days late.

A horrible morning.

I got a phone call today at work just before 10:00 am.

It was my husband.

DH: "You better come home right now."

Me: "Why?"

DH: "I can't find Andrew."

Me (screaming): "WHAT?!?"

DH: "I was washing off the lawn mower and I lost sight of him for a minute and he was gone."

I run out the door, telling the receptionist I have to run home because Andrew is missing. I get to my car and go screeching out of there, hitting almost 90 MPH on the Interstate (I know, not smart, but desperate times call for desperate measures). I got home in 3 minutes (normal commute home is about 6).

I get home, totally expecting to find my husband holding Andrew.

He is searching for him in the neighbor's yard (our backyard leads to it). I ask him if he has called 911 yet, and he hasn't, so I call them.

My first 911 call, and I'm not too great at it, but I manage to get the words out that my 20 month old son is missing, I give them my address and a description of Andrew (white-blonde hair, wearing a blue shirt). I tell them no, that he wasn't in the house (he LOVES being outside and throws a fit every time we try to take him back inside).

They say to stay in the yard and the officer would be right there.

Screw that, I'm going to look! So, I start searching. As I'm frantically running around, I see a couple of hot construction workers and they say they will help me--I give a description of Andrew and tell them his name. Thank heavens for nice people! A few other neighbors get wind of what's going on, so they help with the search. I call my mom at work as I'm looking, and she makes her way over from work.

Two police cars and the Sherrif show up, as well as First Responders. We now have about 10 people on foot, as well as several police officers from surrounding towns. I learned later that they called up police officers from 3 surrounding towns, and they were going to send a search dog.

About 20 minutes into the search, I see my hubby coming down the street with Andrew in his arms.

I told him, "WE'RE DONE." I was so mad. However, he felt bad about what happened, and I could tell he was scared.

I am so glad Andrew was okay! He wandered down past about 6-7 houses, and ended up on the front step of one of the newly constructed duplexes. The people there then gave him to DH.

He went FAR! Even the police officers didn't think he'd get that far. I knew in my heart that he was okay, because I didn't get any bad feelings. It felt so good to have him in my arms. I can't believe how great everyone was to help us. Thank goodness we don't live in a major city.

We live near two streets that can get pretty busy. Luckily, he just stayed on our street. The time of day helped too--not too many cars crusing down it at 10:00/10:30 a.m.

I just keep thinking of the horrible things that could have happened. He could have been hit by a car or someone could have kidnapped him. He is damn cute, after all. This is him tonight.

PS, we're putting up a fence in our backyard--we were going to anyway, but now we're really going to. This boy likes to run.

Amazing!

DH stopped by my work after dropping Andrew off at my mom's house (he is going up to "the land" with his brothers). Anyway, he said he had been out in the front yard and Andrew was in the house, watching from the screen door. DH finished up what he was doing and went to the door to call for Andrew. He didn't come. He went inside and found him in my bed, asleep! He had climbed up there and went to bed. He normally takes his naps in his crib; he also starts the night out in there. I am so amazed that he did this--wow! The bed is "our" place. In the middle of the night, when he wakes up, he comes in there by me. I think maybe it's his super comfort zone, especially when I'm at work. He wanted to go to his snuggly spot.

Oh, and DH was able to get him in the car and to my mom's without waking him. Guess the little bugga was tired!

Weaning update!

And...................nada.

The kid is loving the boobie right now, and is even taking in extra feedings. The very last tooth: a 2-year molar on the upper left, has been working its way in for quite awhile now. Well, it must be really bugging him right now because he was sticking his finger in his mouth the other day. He is also gnawing on stuff, and I think sucking is maybe providing some relief. Unfortunately, I am his suckie (DH has always called pacifiers "suckies"--isn't that cute?). The kid never took a paci as a baby; the only good thing is I didn't have to wean him from that. The bad thing is, I want to wean him from ME and it's my summer goal for him to be done by the time he turns 2 (which is quickly approaching--August 25th). I think I'm going to cry when he turns 2!

My funny boy...

So, two nights ago, I'm hanging out with Andrew and the t.v. is on in the background. All of a sudden, a commercial for Perkin's comes on, flashing bacon, eggs, and other foods across the screen, and Andrew is standing on the couch, looking at the t.v. excitedly saying, "Mmmmmmmm! Nummmm! Mmmmmmm! More! More! Nummm! Mmmmmm!" It was so cute.

Darn marketing pulls 'em in young!

It was on again last night, so I got to show DH the reaction Andrew has to the commercial. He thought it was funny too.

----------------------------
PS, I am so glad Adam is still in the game on Idol! Go ADAM!!!!!! Danny would be my 2nd choice because he seems nice, can sing pretty well, and hey, he's from Wisconsin. Power of the cheese, man, power of the cheese.

Some cuteness...

This is from the other day. I was sitting on the couch and heard Andrew laughing behind me. I turned around and this is what I see. He was laughing SO hard--it was so funny. He was then drinking his water and letting it run down his front, thus the wet shirt. He's such a character!
This one is from yesterday. DH bought a new wheelbarrow for gardening purposes. I thought I could use it to put other cute things inside, like this little boy. I was pushing him around the yard and he thought it was super cool. DH was in the backyard and I came back there, telling him I had some dirt for him, and he turned around to see Andrew. He got a kick out of it too!
We are so happy for this long-awaited nice weather!
