He's officially everywhere!

Andrew has been crawling for a few weeks now, but the past 2 weeks he has really been crawling. He zips down the hallway, saying, "Mama....mama....mama". It is so cute! He is super fast with his crawl. Into the kitchen, down to the end bedroom to see the birds, and around the living room he goes.

He has really strong legs and often will plant his legs on the ground and push his butt up into the air. I have a feeling he'll be standing soon!

I took the day off...

It's a gorgeous day. Daddy, Andrew, and me are going to take a family bike ride. We have one of those bike trailers for Andrew. We only go down streets that aren't traffic-heavy and bike trails. Even though Daddy has logged thousands of miles of biking and is extra-cautious, it's the drivers on the road I don't trust (read: teenage girls texting on cell phones while singing along with 3 of her friends in the car).

This pic is for Nancy! It's my diaper stash drying on the clothesline (that's not all of it; I still had 5-6 fresh ones in the house, plus the one Andrew was wearing):

Daddy took some pics of us outside yesterday too!

It's been a week...

and we're still loving the cloth dipes! No leaks. I ordered another dozen Bum Benius one size (in green, this time...so now we have a dozen blue and a dozen green). We have enough now where I can do laundry about every 4 days.

They're here already!

My cloth diapers, that is. Turns out Nicki's Diapers is in Wisconsin. Consequently, there is an announcement on her website that they've opened their storefront now. It's about 2 1/2 hours away from me. Too bad with free shipping it's still probably cheaper for me to order online! I can do it from the privacy of my own home, naked if I want to! :)

Anyway, here is Andrew in his Bum Genius:

How adorable is he in that dipe? I love them so far. Super soft and kushy. He wore the first one for a few hours and I took it off to change him. No leaks. I put the next one on with a doubler (an extra insert for night super pee) and we'll check him out tomorrow morning. You can see a close-up on the diapers here: http://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=91

If tomorrow goes well, I will be ordering a dozen more. I'm going to get green this time. I'm also going to need some wet bags. I have a TON of disposable wipes right now (the Target ones, unscented, with no parabens). After I use those up, I'm going to be using some baby washcloths in a solution (there are 'recipes' online to make your own wipe fluid).

We're going cloth, baby!

The other day I ordered a dozen Bum Genius 3.0 cloth diapers. They get rave reviews from my online friends who CD. They have velcro fasteners and look like disposable diapers (except they come in cool colors). There is a fleece insert that goes inside in the pocket (the BG diapers fall into the 'pocket diapers' category).

We've just been doing some research and decided to give it a try. I think the diapers look adorable. We also hang all our laundry out on the line because we're awesome that way (minus the winter. I don't do it when it's below 40 degrees), so I'm looking forward to washing the diapers too!

Once I give these a try, if I love them, I'm ordering at least a dozen more. Why mess around with different types if I find one brand I like? Most people say they don't have problems with leaks on these.

The dipes should be here by the end of the week!
